ICCA Integrates the World Plastics Council Into Its Structure
Yesterday, ICCA and the World Plastics Council (WPC) formalized the integration of WPC within ICCA’s structure. This step reflects a shared industry commitment to ensure strong global industry coordination and a coherent approach to plastics policy within the broader chemicals agenda.
“Bringing the World Plastics Council and ICCA closer together marks an important step in strengthening global industry collaboration and advancing a coherent voice on plastics and chemicals. By aligning our efforts, we can deepen cooperation across regions and value chains, reinforce science-based advocacy, and strengthen the industry’s engagement in global policy discussions.” Dr. Markus Kamieth, CEO of BASF, ICCA President
“The World Plastics Council is recognised as a trusted global platform for dialogue and multi-stakeholder collaboration. Integrating into ICCA will help us increase our impact through close alignment with the broader chemicals industry and deliver effective solutions that benefit people and the planet.” Benny Mermans, WPC Chair
The integration ensures continuity of WPC’s existing work, priorities and engagement, while aligning with ICCA’s global policy and advocacy activities. All ongoing initiatives, partnerships and engagement channels will continue within the new structure.
