Four African countries – Kenya, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, and Nigeria – will benefit from a new pilot project to support their national implementation of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). The GHS is one of the fundamental tools to achieve sound management of chemicals.
Members of ICCA joined delegates in Nairobi this week for the Fifth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-5). ICCA expressed its strong support for progress on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through several key resolutions focused on eliminating plastic leakage into the environment and strengthening chemicals management.
A new global agreement should be underpinned by 5 key elements for a global framework to end plastic waste. These elements will help solve plastics leakage while enabling the benefits of plastics to achieve a lower carbon and more sustainable future.
