ICCA responds to recent tragic events in Syria involving the use of chemical weapons
The International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA) provided the following statement in response to recent tragic events involving the use of chemical weapons in Syria:
“ICCA would like to express its disgust about the attack in Syria with chemical weapons. We strongly condemn the use of any chemical as a weapon against people.
“ICCA strongly supports the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), and its members actively support the full implementation of the global ban on any chemical weapons-related activity.
“We have full confidence that the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the international organization that oversees the implementation of and compliance with the CWC, will get to the source of this terrible incident. We stand ready to support OPCW.”
